What are the 5 CAS stages?

Establishing tangible, long-term goals and identifying indicators of success helps to guide the direction of a program and provides a framework for assessing its effectiveness over time. Having a well-written Measureable Outcomes section is a key component of effective grants, not to mention the beginning of the possibility of repeat funding.
This is something that many grant writers, particularly those who are newer to the field struggle with. The above outcomes are concrete statements about what each of the programs will accomplish. Effective outcomes will succinctly answer the five questions below. They are what you will do to achieve whatever your goals are for your program or project.

The most desired outcomes are those that have long term and far reaching impacts. Some examples of long term impacts are improved community health or safety, higher income levels, and upgraded environmental quality. Outcomes can also have differing timelines, categorizing them into short-term, medium-term, or long-term outcomes.
Never under-estimate how measurable outcomes work to secure grant funding. Just because it gives you angst, don’t put it off until the deadline looms hoping for last minute wisdom.
